The new iteration draws inspiration from the innovative design language of the Space Age era, merging futuristic aesthetics with advanced comfort to transform a heritage silhouette into a contemporary lifestyle footwear piece and design object.
In a notable departure from the original model's lacing system, the GEL-KAYANO™ 20 introduces a modern upper with three hook and loop strap closures, inspired by archival designs discovered during a visit to the ASICS headquarters in Kobe, Japan. The upper includes a breathable wide-open mesh and textured recycled leather overlays, while the strap closures enhance the shoe’s futuristic aesthetic and practical convenience.
While reimagined as a lifestyle sneaker, the GEL-KAYANO™ 20 retains key features that made it a standout in its original form. The TRUSSTIC™ support system remains intact, providing underfoot stability, while ASICS' signature GEL™ technology in the midsole provides superior shock absorption and long-lasting comfort.
This style also comes with a translucent frosted ASICS branded dust bag.
